Direct IP Printing - Cooperative Extension - Apple MACs
Allowing the device to Direct IP print on the wireless network
- Add the devices in Meraki to the Group Policy for 'County Asset - Wireless Printing'
- Find the device under the 004 network/Network-wide/clients
- Check the box beside the client and select the 'Edit policy' option that shows up
- Select 'Group policy' and select the 'County Asset - Wireless Printing' and save
Adding the printer to the MAC
- Get the drivers for the current printers on site from \\10.200.10.200\InstallPoints\Drivers - Driver Library\Printers\Apple MAC
- Install all the .pkg files on the MAC using the defaults
- In 'Printers & Scanners' choose 'Add Printer....'
- Select the globe icon a the top for 'IP'
- Enter the IP address of the printer
- Choose the 'HP Jetdirect - Socket' for the Protocol
- Leave the Queue blank
- Name the printer from the information at the end of this document
- for the location you may enter the address of this department
- Under 'Use' pick 'Select Software'
- Pick the corresponding printer model from the list and click 'Add'
- Select the 'Paper Source Unit', 'Finisher', and 'Punch Unit' options from the information at the end of this document. Leave all other settings default.
